The chair of Bioinformatics, BIOTEC, TU Dresden has the following vacancies as part of four EU/BMBF financed projects:
5 PhD students / Postdoctoral Researchers in bioinformatics

The researchers will develop techniques in the following areas:
- Ontologies and text-mining for gene, disease, drug relationships;
- Algorithms for protein interaction networks and systems biology;
- Modelling of protein complexes and identification of motifs from structure and apply them to
- Identification of Parkinson disease genes;
- Prediction of outcome in cancer;
- Understanding chemoresistance in cancer.

Data to be used will comprise gene expression, RNA interference, protein networks and atomic force microscopy data.
Applicants are required to have a university degree or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computing, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Medicine, or related. Candidates should have a good spoken and written English. PostDoc candidates should have a sound record of peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Terms: Salary E 13 TV-L in accordance with the applicant's qualifications and experience. The positions are initially limited to 1 year with possibility to extend up to 3 years.
